To Travel or Stay Put?

To travel or stay put...that is the question.
Staying in our comfortable routines, in our homes, in our cities gives us a feeling of safety, of rootedness, which most human beings need. Travel, on the other hand, expands our sense of possibilities and helps us rethink how we are living. It can be exhilarating and stimulating to see other cultures, different environments, but often we feel a sense of relief to come home, to relax, to root into a familiar and safe place. At the very lease, we come home with something we'd like to incorporate into our lives; sometimes it inspires us to uproot and move.
Travel can serve as a tool to release stuck patterns in our lives, see things differently, or break loose the grip of attachment (for those of us that have that condition). It's the fear of change that holds us back, not the change itself; the brain is wired to keep us safe.
We can always make a mini-leap with travel, a small trip, prepping us for other changes in our lives acting as a catalyst to detach from our reality for a little while, expand our sense of possibility, and help us realize that another reality always awaits us. And if we decide to make a bigger leap and move state or countries, we know the net will always appear.
Soul-Prompt: How can travel help me release my grip on the status quo? Do I truly like where I live? If I move, what will I be giving up and what will I be gaining?
