Green is Growth
Green has the connotation of being new at something. The comparison is to new life such as the plants, flowers and trees. Indeed, nature is green, always new, always regenerating and expanding according to the natural cycles.
As I walk through Rock Creek park, the stream bubbling, my heart feels expansiveness in all that is new within me, but I realize what I’m feeling is merely a connection to what is all around us, all the time.
The heart chakra is green and symbolizes love energy—expansive by nature. So of course, God made nature green since green is new life; green is growth. The ultimate growth for humans, and all beings, is the heart. To expand, we must allow ourselves to be green again, new at something— opening up to a new person, a new love, a friend, a new habit, saying hello to a puppy on the street or befriending a spider, it doesn’t matter. We must burst through our protective shell built up around our hearts from disappointments and old wounds. The walls weren’t meant to stay but merely be reflexive mechanisms—a temporary action. We must be brave like the color green to allow ourselves, our heart, new growth, sprouting, germinating—inherent within it is the intention to expand.
The sun followed me, peeking through the trees. Its mission, too, is to expand the green growth, abundantly growing to support all other life (the spiders, the birds, the humans). Ultimately, the expansive sun supports that expansive green growth, mother nature, our human heart.
Soul-Prompt: Where or how do I wish to expand within my heart? What expands my heart now? How can I do more of this?
